linen, cherry blossoms and tadao ando

I have stumbled upon a treasure this past week and have been living vicariously through waves of linen in a far away land. Soft, clean, meticulously detailed, I've immersed myself in the "nothingness" of lin-net.com. I have long admired Japanese design and culture but am very clear I am quite foreign to it. From textiles to graphic design, the simplicity and tradition are awe-inspiring. And if the dollar had more on the yen these days, I would hoard rolls of this delicious cloth...alas, photographs will have to do.

In the spirit of whitespace I'll keep my post brief. Do see the sublime architecture of Tadao Ando if you find yourself in the Midwest (yes, I said Midwest) or of course, the Far East. And I certainly owe much gratitude to Alison of 6.5 stitches for introducing me to Linnet. Her work is exquisite, understated and reflects the nature of children. Visit her 44 times two for a breathtaking, silent dialogue.

"There is a role and function for beauty in our time."
Tadao Ando

read nora ephron and how she wanted everything beige after dining at an equisite beige apartment, went home and proceeded to do all beige, then quickly went back to color.
i say people go either beige or bold! i love line but admit, i need to add a bit of color.
