a good impression

Bringing the beauty of nature into our homes, Swedish textile designer Lotta Helleberg coaxes the essence of a leaf into her unique and lovely creations. Her meticulous process of selecting and inking actual foliage, results in the softest science reminiscent of childhood projects. Modern botanical prints combined with subdued natural fibers lend themselves however to gorgeous and grown-up design. Down pillows, scented sachets and hand-stitched hangings fill this collection that I covet. Each piece is crafted with care including bits of vintage and organic fabrics. An artisan and botanist melted into one, Lotta speaks of her muse as 'compliant and faithful', whether a fern, a seed, a branch. She captures the thumbprint of nature itself, bringing outdoors inside, fresh and abundant through all seasons. I am happy to know you and adore our correspondence, another creative woman inspired by family and dedicated to the concern with how things are made.

"Nothing is more the child of art than a garden." ~ Sir Walter Scott

I was just perusing Lottas place and thinking about getting some new pillows, I love them.
Imagine a Swede in Virginia with all that flora and fauna! She has more than a green thumb.

These are so lovely. The fabrics, the images, the color palette.
I am thinking of purchasing some--although it seems like a shame to do so since, in my house, they will probably end up covered in dog slobbers...

Beautiful, I would love to rest my weary head on just such a pillow. Lotta's work is so serene and trust me that after last week I really need serenity. I had the worst week ever. I find that calming photos and objects do wonders for one's state of mind.
