fanciful form

I have just lost myself this past hour in the magical and enticing world of Tord Boontje. A designer from the Netherlands currently living in France, his work is mesmerizing, delicate, borrowed from nature yet informed by sophisticated technology. Light and form dance throughout his installations, a sinuous symbiosis, twinkling, floating, flipping in the wind. And furniture marries fashion as texture drapes and moves giving the inanimate life. A fanciful filigree, Boontje invites the viewer's emotions as part of the whole. I imagine, to immerse yourself within his space would be breathtaking as his site alone is completely captivating. And do see his softer series influenced by parenthood and a baby girl, still very high design with a slightly more organic energy.

Happy Monday. And a big 'thank you' to Melissa for having me as one of her 'reads' this past month. I'm flattered to have been in such creative company.

Dripping in flowers....that is what comes to mind. Who doesn't love that thought.
