i hadn't heard of this movie, but now i'm eager to see it. when i was an undergrad, i used to tutor junior high and middle schoolers, and i have so many great memories of the funny things my students said. up until last year, i worked as a volunteer tutor once a week, and it really supported my wish that free, personal, one-on-one tutoring should be provided to anyone at any income level. i feel like that personal attention brings a lot to the learning experience. even if they spend the first few minutes or last minutes talking about their day or weekend or hobbies, it makes them feel like they matter and not just a number.
I am teary-eyed as I write this... I am compelled, too. Thank your for sharing this, Tyler.
